ABOUT SOSCIETY
SOSCIETY is the student constituent body representing the School of Social Sciences (SOSS). It consists of passionate SOSS students who are keen to create an enriching and well-rounded Social Sciences experience for their peers.
Established in 2004, SOSCIETY's vision is to unite SOSS students (past, present & future), striving for excellence and pursuing opportunities as a cohesive community. With unique social events, professional and academic development opportunities, and community service initiatives, SOSCIETY aims to create an inclusive and vibrant university life experience for all SOSS students!
KEY EVENTS
SOSS Freshmen Orientation is SOSCIETY's biggest event of the year, with an exciting 3-day camp to welcome incoming SOSS freshmen to kickstart their SMU journeys on a high. With fun beach day activities and games, freshmen can look forward to bonding and forming lasting friendships with their batchmates.
SOSCIETY's Mentorship Programme is an initiative for SOSS students to foster meaningful relationships with past SOSS alumni. From navigating their SMU journey to seeking guidance on the industries they are interested in, students can gain first-hand advice on how to best maximise their time in SOSS!
SOSCIETY's Merchandise Sales, held every semester, feature an array of vibrant items including clothing, accessories and stationery for the SOSS community! Students can display their SOSS pride, strengthening their sense of belonging.

SOSS FRESHMEN ORIENTATION 2024
SOSS Freshmen Orientation is our flagship event designed to welcome our incoming freshmen! With an exciting programme including a beach day and intense games, freshmen can foster close friendships and learn more about the school culture with their SOSS peers.
This camp will be filled with exhilarating activities and challenges that require teamwork and your competitive spirit! Through this camp, we hope that our SOSS freshmen will have the opportunity to forge lasting friendships and memories with their fellow Social Science peers.
